OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2196

The next Regened All-Ages Prog is here, full of scrotnig stories for your young Squaxx!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2196 is OUT NOW!

Welcome, Thrill-seekers, to the third Regened takeover issue of 2020, whereby Tharg passes his nephew Joko-Jargo the reins of his pulse-pounding SF anthology for a bumper one-off prog.

As ever, we’ve got a scrotnig selection of stories to energise the circuits of humanoids young and old — we kick off with another Cadet Dredd tale, this time from Mike Carroll and Luke Horsman, as Joe and his clone-brother Rico take on a direct-action protest group of juves that are holding hostages. Ghost-hunters Eliot and Meera are back in Finder & Keeper: The Curse of Kreepindeth by John Reppion and David Tinto, as their school trip to the local natural history museum takes a decidedly supernatural turn!

We also have a complete Future Shock in the shape of Boss Level by Karl Stock and Tom Newell, with an old videogame called Free the Monkey! going viral in a most unexpected way; and we debut two new strips, Roger Langridge and Brett Parson’s Pandora Perfect, and Rory McConville and PJ Holden’s Department K, for your delight and delectation.

Let us know what you think of them! Enjoy, Terrans — we’ll be back in three months for the fourth and final Regened special of 2020!

2000 AD Prog 2196 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

CADET DREDD // Bad Seeds

Mega-City One, 2142 AD. Home to over 140 million citizens, this urban hell is situated
along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. With unemployment rife and
boredom universal, tensions run a knife-edge and crime is rampant. Only the Judges
— zero-tolerance cops empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy.
CADET JOE DREDD — together with his clone-brother Rico — is a rising star in Justice Department, and will one day be its finest officer. Make no mistake, he is the Law!

PANDORA PERFECT

Earth, the far future. While the towering starscrapers and flying cars may make this look like some idealised Utopia, crime is still a major problem, and there’s no felon more wanted than the nefarious Pandora Perez — burglar, safe-cracker, armed bandit and
all-round career criminal. The authorities may think they’ve finally managed to incarcerate her, but they’re reckoned without her loyal robot assistant Gort, who’s succeeded in breaking her out of her cell. With every cop likely to be on their tail, Pandora and Gort are going to have to lie low — plus there’s the problem of her ankle
shackle, which will explode if she tries to flee…

FINDER & KEEPER // The Curse of Kreepindeth

Somewhere in the UK, 2020. Meera Hundal and Eliot Hunter are a pair of friends at the local Stonecroft school. Although essentially good kids, they find themselves in trouble more often than they’d like thanks to their inability to walk away from a fight. Strongwilled
and not afraid to speak their minds, their latest punishment was to help with community clean-up chores — and when they were clearing the house of Victorian ghost-hunter Professor A.J. Mortimer, they came upon the special devices that he used to trap spooks. Now in the possession of spectral vision goggles and a spirit-trap, they’re seeing if they can put them to good use…

FUTURE SHOCKS // Boss Level

Out in the vast reaches of the universe, there are an infinite number of stories waiting to be told. These cautionary tales pass from traveller to traveller in the spaceports and around campfires on distant planets, acquiring the status of legend, their shocking ends
a salutory lesson in hubris. Anything is possible in these twisted trips into the galaxy’s dark side. Abandon your preconceptions, and expect the unexpected. Now, in a United Kingdom obsessed with mobile devices and videogames, few could’ve expected just
how popular Free the Monkey! would become when it’s uploaded to the Internet. In fact, it takes over people’s lives…

DEPARTMENT K

Mega-City One, 2142 AD. Justice Department has many divisions within it tasked with dealing with the various threats that face the metropolis. The psychic personnel of Psi-Division, for example, are at the forefront in the fight against supernatural foes, while Tek-
Div conducts all manner of experiments and develops advanced weaponry. The mysterious DEPARTMENT K is a branch of the latter, whose brief is to tackle interdimensional enemies that are seeking to break through the walls of reality. Ever since Judge Death’s appearance, Kirby and her team have been working on ways to keep Mega-City safe from further dimensional incursions…
