Twenty-five years ago, a character made his debut in the Megazine and proved to be one of the most popular new additions to the Judge Dredd universe – Devlin Waugh!
Swimming in Blood – the tale of an outbreak of vampirism in the undersea prison of Aquatraz – launched in Meg 2.01 in May 1992, and writer John Smith and artist Sean Phillips introduced lead character Devlin Waugh, a freelance Vatican exorcist, memorably described as ‘Noël Coward’s head on Arnold Schwarzengger’s body’.
Now, ten years after his last appearance in Innocence and Experience, which hinted at his missing brother Freddy being in some kind of trouble, Devlin’s back this issue for a new story, Blood Debt, with Rory McConville taking up the script reins and Mike Dowling handling the art.
