“Prolific” doesn’t really seem to cover the career of writer Dan Abnett – from decades of writing for 2000 AD to his prominent work for Marvel UK, Marvel and DC, and bestselling novels for the Warhammer 40K universe, his career has been marked by both quantity and quality.

Dan returns to the The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast for a retrospective on his career (so far) and he talks to Molch-R about deadlines, managing creativity, slow-burn storytelling, the changing face of the industry, and coming up with endless puns.

Was this the CREEPIEST comic ever? – The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast

With a brand new hardcover collection publishing all the stories from the 1980s horror comic in order out in May, the Thrill-Cast talkes to its editor Ian Rimmer, sub-editor and writer Simon Furman, and SFX editor and Scream! reader Darren Scott about the history of the short-lived title and its enduring influence.

Simon Harrison on Bradley, Revere & beyond – The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast

2000 AD has had more than its fair share of artists whose work can be described as “unique” – but few match the distinctive individuality of Simon Harrison.

From his first work on the demonicly badly-behaved alien infant Bradley to the lead up to the most iconic moment in Strontium Dog and the fever dream of Revere, Harrison’s art was utterly unmistakeable and rewarding. In this episode, Molch-R talks to him about his life and career, from his childhood in south London to visiting battlefields of Ukraine in the name of art. Just like his work, Harrison’s views on life and art are fascinating and challenging, but still completely his own.

We launch the first episode of 2024 with a special chat for readers new or unfamiliar to 2000 AD – newly minted droid Steve Morris talks to comics critics Rachel Bellwoar and Zack Quaintance about the best ways to get into reading the legendary weekly.

Then we welcome Rob Williams, Arthur Wyatt and Henry Flint, the creative powerhouse behind ‘A Better World’, the current Judge Dredd story running in 2000 AD which sees an experiment diverting resources from the Judges and into education and welfare threatens the very existence of Justice Department. How will the Judges react? We dive into the processes and ideas behind this groundbreaking story, and ask whether this is it for Judge Dredd!

With the final episode of Hershey: ‘The Cold In The Bones’ in 2000 AD Prog 2349 still fresh in the memory and the beginning of Judge Dredd’s quest to find her killers in ‘Poison’ in 2000 AD Prog 2351, Molch-R creaks back into action to talk to writer Rob Williams and artist Simon Fraser about the end of both their solo Hershey series and of the former Chief Judge’s story.

A Tribute to Alan Grant – The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast

The official 2000 AD podcast finally returns with a special pre-Christmas episode paying tribute to writer Alan Grant, who passed away in July this year.

In a discussion recorded at New York Comic Con, writer Garth Ennis, editor Dan Raspler, and comics critic Chloe Maveal discuss the impact and legacy of Grant’s work, before Ennis reads a personal letter from Grant that reveals the secret origins of Alec Trench!

We then hear a special, never-before-aired interview recorded at the beginning of 2021, in which Grant talks alongside his friend and long-time co-writer John Wagner about how they met, their time working together, and their reflections of their distinguished careers. A not-to-be-missed interview, which was one of Grant’s last.
