Judge Dredd Megazine #474 out now

Judge Dredd Megazine #474 is OUT NOW!

Annuals! They’re making a comeback! Or at least those from the Rebellion stable of characters – after the success of last year’s Treasury of British Comics Annual, we’re not only getting another one of those (on sale as we speak), but also the hardback 2000 AD Annual has returned after an absence of thirty-four years, and will be available to purchase from the webstore at the end of this month (in both regular and webshop exclusive editions).

Karl Stock catches up this issue with the creators that have been working on the new stories you’ll find inside both titles, with many revealing that the Xmas annual was their first exposure to comics as a child, underlining just what a traditional part they played in the seasonal festivities.

Elsewhere, there’s a brand-new Dredd thriller from Mike Carroll and Nick Percival as a Psi-Judge makes the mistake of trying to penetrate the lawman’s mind, alongside the latest instalments of Devlin Waugh, Death Cap, Lawless, Fargo & McBane and Cadet Rico, and a new all-ages strip makes its debut in the shape of Honor Vincent and Stewart K. Moore’s Cursed Earth-set Riley’s Rebels.

All this and much more – enjoy, creeps!

Judge Dredd Megazine #474 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of the Megazine in the first month of its release then postage in the UK is free!

Judge Dredd Megazine #473 is OUT NOW!

Next year will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the release of the Stallone Judge Dredd movie, and no doubt you’ve seen the news that Rebellion will be publishing a new edition of the official comics adaptation by Andrew Helfer and Carlos Ezquerra to mark the occasion.

Well, we’re slightly getting ahead of the celebrations with this issue’s Dredd story Lawmen of the Future by Ken Niemand and Dan Cornwell, which acts as a follow-up to Prog 2262’s Trinity, and is not short of more than a few Sly digs. It kicks off a brand-new line-up that commences inside, with the returns of Devlin Waugh, Lawless and Death Cap, plus Eartha Fargo and One-Eyed Jack McBane reunite after last year’s One-Eyed Jacks story for their very own series, courtesy of Niemand and Anna Readman, who won the Observer graphic short story competition while she was in the middle of drawing this at the tail-end of 2023.

Karl Stock chats to her about her burgeoning comics career, plus there’s interviews with Joe Currie, Anna Morozova and the creators behind the new Scream! special. All this, plus a brand-new Cadet Rico series and much more! Enjoy, citizens…
