As ever, we have another stunning selection of stories to engage your imaginations, with the current line-up thrumming at full power!

Dredd battles Famine in End of Days by Rob Williams and Colin MacNeil; the Luxine Knights consolidate to tackle the Anubite threat in Alex De Campi and Eduardo Ocana’s Full Tilt Boogie; Ravne and Jenny bring paranormal investigator Damien Dellamore into the fold in The Diaboliks by Gordon Rennie and Antonio Fuso; Francis Bacon’s forces launch an attack on Philae-Delphia in The Order by Kek-W and John Burns; and Cyd finds herself caught up in a mass evacuation in Dan Abnett and Mark Harrison’s The Out.

JUDGE DREDD // End of Days / Part Six

Mega-City One, 2142 AD. Home to over 140 million citizens, this urban hell is situated
along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. With unemployment rife and
boredom universal, tensions run a knife-edge and crime is rampant. Only the Judges
— zero-tolerance cops empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy.
Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law!

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Mark Harrison / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

THE OUT // Part Three

NEW THRILL! The furthest edge of the universe, far into the future. Cyd Finlea is photojournalist working for the publishers Global Neographic, travelling deep into outer space — otherwise known as THE OUT — and cataloguing the sights and alien societies that she encounters. She’s been doing this for so long, she can’t remember how far she is now from Earth, but regardless she keeps going — just her and her camera…

Script: Kek-W / Art: John Burns / Letters: Simon Bowland

THE ORDER // Land of the Free // Part Six

Throughout history, mankind has been under threat of extermination by the Wurms,
creatures from another plane that systematically break into our reality. Defending
humanity are the men and women of THE ORDER, a secret band of warriors that have
fought the entities across the centuries. But time has become fractured, allowing a new
chronology to be created. The tyrannical Francis Bacon now has access to future tech…

Script: Alex De Campi / Art: Eduardo Ocana / Letters: Simon Bowland

FULL TILT BOOGIE // Part Four!

Out in the deep reaches of the cosmos, teenager Tee — together with her grandmother
and cat — is a bounty hunter/hired help, operating from her patched-together spaceship. Capable and resourceful, Tee was recently paid to rescue the Luxine Prince Ifan from his debtors’ prison. But they crashed on a remote moon, where they encountered an eccentric A.I. called Horus and a terrifying warrior known as the Black Dog…

Script: Gordon Rennie / Art: Dom Reardon / Letters: Jim Campbell

THE DIABOLIKS // Profondo Rosso // Part Two

Solomon Ravne and Jennifer Simmons were once part of Caballistics, Inc., a private
paranormal troubleshooting outfit put together by reclusive rock star Ethan Kostabi.
Jennifer, however, was thrown into Hell, and became possessed by a demon. After
Caballistics was disbanded with the death of Kostabi, Ravne and Jenny became a couple, having a baby together — one that attracts a lot of attention from certain quarters…

OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2188

Prog 2188 is out now, with more new Dredd, The Order, The Diaboliks, Full Tilt Boogie, and The Out!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2188 is OUT NOW!

Welcome back, Thrill-seeking humanoids, to the circuit-shattering delight that is the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, the sci-fi anthology that has been blowing Terran minds for over forty-three years.

Together, with our legion of creator-meks, we have been responsible for some of the most zarjaz series to grace your reality, living long into the memories of you Squaxx.

To ensure that this pulse-pounding publication can touch the hearts and diodes of as many Terrans as it does, we have always partnered with an Earthlet publisher, who had the necessary means of Thrill-dispersal.

Back in the seventies it was IPC, in the nineties it was Egmont, and twenty years ago this week (on 1 July 2000) the prog and the Meg were acquired by Rebellion, establishing a fruitful relationship that continues to this day!

Two decades on, we think you’ll agree that the House of Tharg has developed considerably.

Where once, back at the turn of the milliennium, you might’ve been lucky to get half a dozen 2000 AD Hamlyn collections released across the year, now there’s two new graphic novels appearing every month.

Add to that the specials, the T-shirts, the merch, the Treasury range, the odd movie… the GCC is looking stronger than ever!

2000 AD Prog 2188 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2187

Prog 2187 is out now, with more new Dredd, The Order, The Diaboliks, Full Tilt Boogie, and brand new The Out!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2187 is OUT NOW!

If there’s one word that has defined the last four months it has to be ‘lockdown’, with any humes confined to their domiciles to arrest the spread of Covid-19.

Almost all, I’m sure, are looking forward to the day that they can safely go out — but what if you could just keep going, Terrans?

Beyond this planet, beyond the galaxy, deeper and deeper into outer space, leaving Earth far behind — that’s the premise of the new series that starts this prog from Dan Abnett and Mark Harrison, which attempts to capture the sense of wonder of travelling the universe.

Photo-journalist Cyd Finlea is snapping the majestic sights of the cosmos as she goes further into the unknown… into The Out!

There’s more escapist excitement for you Squaxx this week too with the release of 2020’s 2000 AD Sci- Fi Special, which celebrates twenty years of Rebellion publishing the Galaxy’s Greatest.

This hundred-page beast combines classic cuts from the last two decades with all-new stories that sees characters from the Rebellion era face off against those created before the millennium. Thus Captain Jack Dancer and his crew of The Red Seas battle the giant insects of Ant Wars, Dredd meets Zombo, and more. Don’t miss it!

OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2185

Prog 2185 is out now, with more new Dredd, Sinister Dexter, The Order, The Diaboliks, and brand new Full Tilt Boogie!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2185 is OUT NOW!

Welcome once again, Thrill-seeking humanoids, to the weekly circuit-scorcher that is the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, and we trust you come ready to be entertained, excited and amazed by the zarjaz delights contained within!

Joining Sinister Dexter, The Diaboliks, The Order and of course Judge Dredd (and who could’ve seen that twist coming, eh, Terrans?) this issue is Full Tilt Boogie by Alex De Campi and Eduardo Ocana, which we’re delighted to welcome back after its successful debut in Prog 2130.

The pilot episode in the Regened issue was so popular that we immediately demanded a full-length series, which we think you Squaxx are going to enjoy — so buckle up and prepare to soar into the cosmos with Tee and company!

Right now, many of you Earthlets would probably welcome an escape from your planet and to travel amongst the stars — alas, your crude interstellar capabilities restrict that somewhat.

That’s where 2000 AD can offer such a journey into the outer realms of the imagination — and a brand-new series from Dan Abnett and Mark Harrison starting in Prog 2187 recaptures that sense of awe. Join Cyd Finlea as she goes right to the very limits of The Out!

2000 AD Prog 2185 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

CADET DREDD // Combat Ready

Mega-City One, 2141 AD. Home to over 130 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America, with the irradiated wasteland known as the Cursed Earth to the west. Unemployment is rife, boredom universal and crime is rampant. Tensions rest on a knife-edge and only the zero-tolerance Judges can stop total anarchy. CADET JOE DREDD — together with his clone-brother Rico — is a rising star in Justice Department, and will one day be its finest officer. Make no mistake, he is the Law!

FUTURE SHOCK // The Queen of Mean

Out in the vast reaches of the universe, there are an infinite number of stories waiting
to be told. These cautionary tales pass from traveller to traveller in the spaceports and
around campfires on distant planets, acquiring the status of legend, their shocking
ends a salutory lesson in hubris. Anything is possible in these twisted trips into the

FINDER & KEEPER // Nuisance Neighbours

Somewhere in the UK, 2020. Meera Hundal and Eliot Hunter are a pair of friends at the local Stonecroft school. Although essentially good kids, they find themselves in trouble more often than they’d like thanks to their inability to walk away from a fight. Strong willed and not afraid to speak their minds, their latest punishment was to help with community clean-up chores — and when they were clearing the house of Victorian ghost-hunter Professor A.J. Mortimer, they came upon the special devices that he used to trap spooks. Now in the possession of spectral vision goggles and a spirit-trap, they’re seeing if they can put them to good use…

Script: Cavan Scott / Art: Paul Davidson / Colours: Len O’Grady / Letters: Simon Bowland

ANDERSON, PSI-DIVISION // First-Class Citizen

Mega-City One, 2142 AD. Psi-Division is a section of Justice Department that specialises in Judges with accentuated psychic talents — from precognition to exorcism, projection to pyrokinesis, it deals with all manner of paranormal crimes, and is often the city’s
first defence against supernatural threats. Cassandra ANDERSON is Justice Department’s top telepath — warm, empathetic and often flippant, she’s not your usual Judge, and she still sees the good in the Big Meg’s citizens. Given that Psi-Judges are often highly strung, their occasionally disrespectful attitude is overlooked as long as they continue to get results…

Script: Michael Carroll / Art: Brokenshire / Colours: John Charles . Letters: Simon Bowland

STRONTIUM DOG // Acceptable Losses

Following the Great Atom War of 2150, many of the survivors were mutated by the radioactive Strontium 90 fallout, creating an underclass despised and feared by the ‘norms’. These mutants were forced to live in ghettos, and the only job open to them was
bounty hunting as Search/Destroy agents. One such STRONTIUM DOG is Johnny Alpha, whose eyes are capable of emitting alpha waves enabling him to see through walls. JUDGE DREDD // Chimpsky’s Law / Part Part Five

Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law!

Script: Liam Johnson / Art: Robin Henley / Letters: Jim Campbell

FUTURE SHOCK // A.I. Love You

Out in the vast reaches of the universe, there are an infinite number of stories waiting
to be told. These cautionary tales pass from traveller to traveller in the spaceports and
around campfires on distant planets, acquiring the status of legend, their shocking
ends a salutory lesson in hubris. Anything is possible in these twisted trips into the
galaxy’s dark side. Abandon your preconceptions, and expect the unexpected…

THE ORDER // Inbetween Days

Throughout history, mankind has been under threat of extermination by the Wyrms,
creatures from another plane that systematically break into our reality. Defending
humanity are the men and women of THE ORDER, a secret band of warriors that have
fought the entities across the centuries. But the Wyrms have fractured time, and a new
chronology has been created, one in which Francis Bacon has access to future tech…

Script: Gordon Rennie & Emma Beeby / Art: Neil Googe / Colours: Gary Caldwell / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

SURVIVAL GEEKS // Crisis of Infinite Nerds / Part Eight

Somewhere in the outer limits of space/time, plunging through the planes of reality,
is what looks like a regular suburban two-up two-down, but it is in fact powered by
misfiring transdimensional technology. Inside live sci-fi obsessives Clive, Rufus and
Simon, plus reluctant housemate Sam and pet Cthulhu Howard: explorers on the edge
of beyond, they’re never far from trouble on the worlds they visit…

Script: Rob Williams / Art: Simon Fraser / Letters: Simon Bowland

HERSHEY // Disease / Part Eight

Judge Barbara Hershey was one of Justice Department’s most respected and capable young officers before she became Chief Judge. Leading the city through numerous challenges, she only occasionally clashed with Dredd — until the ‘Small House’ affair and the revelation of Judge Smiley’s clandestine operations on her watch. Now, though, a microbial virus has seen Hershey resign, and her health suffer to the point of death…

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2180 is OUT NOW!

The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic enters May, and at the time of writing there’s been no changes to the lockdown situation that everyone’s experiencing.

Indeed, under normal circumstances the beginning of this month would see the annual Free Comic Book Day event but alas that has been postponed until later in the summer so we’re afraid you’ll have to wait a little longer to pick up the special 2000 AD FCBD issue (with its exclusive, all-new Dredd story by Al Ewing and Erica Henderson!), as well as issue one of the Best of 2000 AD, the direct-market reprint title that was also due to launch round about now.

Ah well — take solace from the fact that our illustrious organ is still here every week, delivering the Thrill-power that we know you Squaxx hunger for.

This prog sees the finale of the current Skip Tracer story Nimrod, while Aquila: The Burning Fields reaches its penultimate part. Elsewhere, Judge Dredd: Chimpsky’s Law, Hershey and Survival Geeks all build towards their zarjaz conclusions in Prog 2182, ahead of the second of Tharg’s nephew Joko-Jargo’s bumper all-ages Regened issues, out on 27 May.
