2000 AD Prog 2409 out now!

ATTENTION, EARTHLETS – 2000 AD Prog 2409 is OUT NOW!

Call me Tharg The Mighty, alien eminence at the helm of this awe-inspiring SF anthology!

It’s that time once again, Terrans, to take a break from the Thrill-sucking realities of everyday life and escape into the worlds of the Galaxy’s Greatest. Now, I’m not necessarily saying a trip to Nu Earth is a walk in the park, or visiting Mega-City One is an uplifting experience — but hey, it’s got to be better than the alternative, right?

Bonus zarjazness this week as this pulsepounding prog is joined on the shelves by issue #474 of the Judge Dredd Megazine, which is another ghafflebette package. There’s a complete Dredd story from Mike Carroll and Nick Percival as a Psi-Judge has the unenviable task of entering the lawman’s mind, plus the latest instalments of Devlin Waugh, Lawless, Death Cap, Cadet Rico and Fargo & McBane.

Add to the debut of a new Cursed Earth-set series Riley’s Rebels from the Vincent and Moore droids, an in-depth dive into the new 2000 AD and Treasury of British Comics annuals, chats with Robbie Morrison, Charlie Adlard, Simon Jacob and more, and it’s a 128-page treat!

2000 AD Prog 2409 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

JUDGE DREDD // THE COMFORT ZONE, Part Three

Mega-City One, 2146 AD. Home to over 200 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. Crime is rampant and only the Judges — empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law! Now, he’s on patrol with Judge Joyce, policing a mutant settlement beyond the walls of the city…

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Mark Harrison / Letters: Simon Bowland

THE OUT // BOOK IV, Part Nine

The furthest edge of the universe. Cyd Finlea was a photo-journalist working for the publishers Global Neographic, travelling deep into outer space — otherwise known as THE OUT — and cataloguing the alien societies that she encounters. She left Earth ten years ago and has been seeking other ex-pat humans — but now, having lost her old pal Cheerio and said goodbye to her daughter Joey, she’s finding work…

Script: Kek-W / Art: David Roach / Colours: Peter Doherty / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

NIGHTMARE NEW YORK // PART NINE

Lower Manhattan, 1845. Paradise Square is at the centre of Five Points in Old New York, where five street corners meet. The early days of the North American metropolis are marked by a mix of poverty, organised crime and hardscrabble lives, where ragpickers rub shoulders with missionaries. Young Lil, living rough on these dank streets, has just turned eighteen, and has been captured by diabolists, after discovering her powers…

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Tazio Bettin / Colours: Matt Soffe / Letters: Jim Campbell

AZIMUTH // THE FABLED BASILISK, Part Four

Welcome to the city of AZIMUTH, a data-driven metropolis, where anything is possible. Ruled by an aristocracy of the New Flesh, such concepts of life, death, and body-forms are fluid. The New Flesh masters have been troubled by strange dreams, which seem to have predicted the coming of a stranger — none other than Ramone Dexter, who’s teamed up with Psi-Judge Cassandra Anderson to save Downlode…

Script: Garth Ennis / Art: Patrick Goddard / Letters: Rob Steen

ROGUE TROOPER // WHEN A G.I. DIES, Part Nine

Nu Earth, site of a galactic war between the Norts and the Southers, where the atmosphere has been rendered poisonous. So the Southers created the Genetic Infantrymen, bred to be immune to the pollutants — G.I.s like ROGUE TROOPER, the last of his kind. Together with biochip buddies Helm, Gunnar and Bagman, they’re searching for the traitor that sold them out…

2000 AD Prog 2407 out now!

ATTENTION, EARTHLETS – 2000 AD Prog 2407 is OUT NOW!

I am The Mighty Tharg, Betelgeusian bestower of galactic gifts in the form of this SF anthology!

Welcome back, Terrans, to the ghafflebette highlight of your week — that moment when you get to temporarily shrug off everyday reality and take a plunge into the pages of the scrotnig GGC.

In fact, it’s quite a week in the real world — if you’re a subscriber, you may well be reading these words before the US election, but if you’ve this picked up from your local Thrill-merchant it’ll be the day after. How it’ll all pan out even my mighty powers of foresight can’t quite ascertain — that whole attempted insurrection thing wasn’t on my election bingo card back in 2021 — so Quaxxann only knows what’s in store this time around!

Back to the House of Tharg, and we have a new Dredd thriller starting this prog, courtesy of the Carroll and Willsher droids, joining Rogue Trooper, Azimuth, Nightmare New York and The Out.

Also new this week from the Treasury of British Comics imprint is a Scream! special, celebrating the title’s fortieth annivesary, and this year’s Treasury Annual with a tantalising mix of new stories and classic reprint. Enjoy!

2000 AD Prog 2407 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

Yes, I am a channeller of Thrills — through me flows the circuit-shattering zarjazosity that you experience as you peruse these scrotnig pages. BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS! Behold the works of my Mighty Self — I am Tharg, and I bring you the gift of Thrill-power!

2000 AD Prog 2402 out now!

ATTENTION, EARTHLETS – 2000 AD Prog 2402 is OUT NOW!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS! I am The Mighty Tharg, your genial green guide to all that is ghafflebette — welcome to 2000 AD!

The zarjaz line-up that commenced last prog continues in another issue pulsing with Thrillpower, as the plots thicken in Rogue Trooper, Brink, Nightmare New York and The Out, while the Judge Dredd two-hander Silence draws to a close (but the Williams, Wyatt and Lynch droids will reunite for a new story at the beginning of next year). Yes, October is looking pretty, pretty scrotnig from where I’m standing — and since I’m always standing at the threshold of cuttingedge graphic entertainment, I know what I’m talking about!

Alas, such commitment to the very finest in future fiction, brought to you by some of the most talented creator droids to have been constructed by the expert metallurgists of Quaxxann, doesn’t come without a cost — and unfortunately the rising overheads of shuttle delivery have meant that the GGC’s cover price had to rise by twenty pence last week.

But don’t forget that you can save groats by taking out a dual physical subscription, and you’ll have access to all manner of special offers. Check out the deets, my Squaxx, at shop.2000AD.com!

Jump On Here! 2000 AD Prog 2401 out now!

ATTENTION, EARTHLETS – 2000 AD Prog 2401 is OUT NOW!

Call me The Mighty Tharg, ebullient emerald editor of this award-winning SF anthology!

I trust you’ve fully recovered from the galaxyshaking events of last week’s Nordland Rising crossover, Terrans, and your circuits are prepped for another level of Thrill-power — because I’m about to pummel your diodes with yet more zarjazness in the shape of the all-new line-up starting this prog!

Well, Brink continues (I know you Squaxx wouldn’t forgive me if you didn’t find out what happens next…) but elsewhere we’ve got the start of Book Four of the ever-popular The Out by the Abnett and Harrison droids, Garth Ennis and Patrick Goddard reunite following last year’s acclaimed Blighty Valley story for a new Rogue Trooper thriller When a G.I. Dies, the Williams, Wyatt and Lynch droids pick up some plot threads from A Better World in Judge Dredd: Silence, and The Order creators Kek-W and John Burns collaborate on a brand-new historical horror Nightmare New York.

This would prove to be John’s final work as ill health led him to retire, and he sadly died at the end of 2023. So it adds an extra potency to view the last pages of a comics master and appreciate his extraordinary talent…

Nordland Rising! 2000 AD Prog 2400 out now!

ATTENTION, EARTHLETS – 2000 AD Prog 2400 is OUT NOW!

I am The Mighty Tharg, all-powerful alien editor of this eye-popping SF anthology!

We mark another benchmark issue — two thousand four hundred progs! How on Quaxxann did that happen? — with a special crossover event. In previous years, we’ve had the zombie variants of the characters and the ‘What if…?’ of the Battle Action merger — but this time, it’s war!

Yes, in this particular alternate take on 2000 AD history, the Norts, having defeated the Southers, have sought new worlds to conquer, and Nu Earth’s nearby black hole gives them the opportunity to invade multiple other universes. So, just as Dredd and co are fending off the Sovs at the height of the Apocalypse War, a new enemy joins the fray. And it’s not just Mega-City One that’s coming under attack — Bad Company, the V.C.s, Major Eazy and more are facing the might of the Nordland Empire, and will have to collaborate to strike back…

This is a story too big to contain in just one 48-page issue, so it carries on into Judge Dredd Megazine 472 — handily, on sale the very same day as this pulse-pounding prog! So prepare for an epic battle, Terrans, as Kano, Hershey, Jupe and Constanta team up for the very first time…

2000 AD Prog 2400 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

Now, East-Meg One has launched an all-out nuclear attack on MC-1, followed by an invasion…

Script: Peter Milligan / Art: Cam Smith / Letters: Jim Campbell

BAD COMPANY // THE TORTURE FARM

The planet Ararat, the twenty-third century. This world has become the site of a vicious war between mankind and the alien Krool. They’ve been in deadly conflict for several years now, with little progress — the Krool’s ruthlessness and penchant for sadistic torture has made them a formidable foe. But a rumour has emerged of a strange outfit operating behind enemy lines, called BAD COMPANY…

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Nick Dyer /Colours: Jack Davies / Letters: Simon Bowland

THE V.C.s // NORTS & DOUBLE-CROSSES

The Earth solar system, the twenty-sixth century. No one knew where the alien Geeks came from, but they sure weren’t friendly. When they started attacking mankind’s outposts, it was up to the Global Combat Corps to protect the galaxy. Otherwise known as THE V.C.s — the Vaccuum Cleaners, because they clear-up the spaceways — this team of heavily armoured marines go where they’re needed to tackle the Geek menace…

Script: Ian Edginton / Art: Nick Percival / Letters: Jim Campbell

FIENDS OF THE EASTERN FRONT // WHAT’S BRED IN THE BONE

Earth, the Second World War. As the German Army battles the Russians, one particular platoon found itself allied with a Romanian squad, led by the brutal Captain Constanta. The Romanian soldiers were hungry for revenge against the Soviets, but little did the Germans realise that Constanta and his crew were in fact vampires — and their bloodlust meant anyone was a target…

Script: Gordon Rennie / Art: Simon Coleby / Colours: Gary Caldwell / Letters: Simon Bowland

JAEGIR // 100 MILLION MARTYRS

The Greater Nordland Republic. While the Norts were engaged in a galaxy-wide war with the Souther forces, it fell to military officers such as Kapiten-Inspector Atalia JAEGIR of the Nordland State Security Police to investigate war criminals amongst her own ranks. The daughter of War Marshal Josef Jaegir, she’s also suffering from the Strigoi curse, a fault in the Nort DNA that can bring out the beast within…

MAJOR EAZY // AFRIKA NORTS

The African desert, 1942. During the Allied campaign, few officers were as singular as Major Eazy — long-haired and laconic, this scruffy maverick never failed to irritate his superiors. With a cigar hanging from his lips and often found driving his distinctive Bentley, Eazy seemed crazy — but his eccentricities were overlooked because when it came to warfare, he always gets the job done…
