Through the fog of Nu-Earth comes a brutal and hard-hitting new story featuring the Genetic Infantryman, Rogue Trooper, from the powerhouse creative team of Garth Ennis and Patrick Goddard!
Nu Earth is the site of a galactic war between the Norts and the Southers, and the Genetic Infantrymen like Rogue Trooper have been created solely for this war. However, after the betrayal of the Traitor General Rogue is the last of his kind, and together with biochip buddies Helm, Gunnar and Bagman, they’re searching for the traitor that sold them out.
But now the black hole above Nu-Earth causes a time-rift, and Rogue must team up with British soldiers from World War One to fight both the Hun and the Norts, fix the time barrier, and get back to his original mission.
Garth Ennis (The Boys, Preacher) writes this new, standalone Rogue Trooper adventure – melding together historical action with the sci-fi adventure that is the core of 2000 AD – drawn by Patrick Goddard, who brings the character back in a style reminiscent of the classic Rogue Trooper artists.
Out now, Rogue Trooper: Blighty Valley is a brutal and brilliant new story ideal for new or long-time 2000 AD readers, and a great introduction to The Genetic Infantryman! Don’t miss out on one of the most acclaimed Rogue Trooper stories of all time – order your copy today.
Celebrating 50 years of Battle in 2025, The Treasury of British Comics will be reprinting the entirety of Garth Ennis and Keith Burns’ epic Johnny Red saga – including Johnny’s final story, publishing later in 2024 within Battle Action Vol 3! Pre-orders are now available for the first part of this series oversized hardcovers, Johnny Red: The Hurricane.
Written by Garth Ennis (The Boys, Preacher) and drawn by Keith Burns (Battle Action), Hurricane is the first volume of The Treasury of British Comics presentation of the complete adventure of Johnny Red. It follows ace aerial assassin Johnny ‘Red’ Redburn, and the battle-hardened pilots of Russia’s Falcon Squadron. As he leads the squadron through the Battle of Stalingrad, he must defend the city from waves of Nazi Messerschmitts… but Johnny and his fellow pilots become trapped behind enemy lines where they must survive one of the most terrible battles of the whole war.
However, their war is about to become far worse when they uncover a devastating secret that puts them in the sights of not just the Nazis – but their own side as well!
BATTLE ACTION RETURNS WITH A COLLECTION OF TWELVE NEW STORIES!
Air Ace Johnny Red and Angel of Death Nina Petrova face off against the Nazi invaders, lethal British agent Dredger deals with the abduction of the only person dear to his stony heart, and the louche Major Eazy must lead his men through the Devil’s Garden of El Alamein. There’s action aplenty with roguish British commandoes Rat Pack, along with Death Squad, their equally deadly German counterparts. And the hellish arctic ocean is the setting for HMS Nightshade, the classic tale of war at sea.
Writer Garth Ennis (Preacher, The Boys) is joined by an incredible roster of top-tier talent, with stories by original Battle Action writer John Wagner (Judge Dredd, Robo-Hunter), Torunn Gronbekk (Thor, Red Sonja), Rob Williams (Suicide Squad, Petrol Head) and Dan Abnett (Guardians of the Galaxy, Lawless), and featuring art by industry greats like Keith Burns (Out of the Blue), Chris Burnham (Batman, Doom Patrol), Henry Flint (Hawk The Slayer) and John Higgins (Watchmen, Dreadnoughts). There’s blazing Battle Action on every page!
Battle Picture Weekly was where the revolution in British comics began. Created in 1975 by writers and editors Pat Mills and John Wagner, it introduced new grittiness into comics with its cast of anti-heroes and misfits. Its bombast and energy sparked a sea-change in what comics could do, leading to Mills’ creation of the controversial Action and the globally influential 2000 AD.
The new Battle Action mini-series celebrates the merging of this landmark title with its controversial stablemate, Action, a combination that took the two comics to even greater heights. Now, more than forty years after the original, some of the cream of British comics talent are bringing these classic characters back to life.
This volume contains:
JOHNNY RED by Garth Ennis and Keith Burns
HMS NIGHTSHADE by John Wagner and Dan Cornwell
CRAZY KELLER by Garth Ennis and Chris Burnham
D-DAY DAWSON by Dan Abnett and Phil Winslade
DREDGER by Garth Ennis and John Higgins

Fall in, soldier – Battle Action is back and it’s bigger and better than ever, with a brand new five-issue mini-series launching this May!
Rebellion is proud to announce that following the huge success of 2022’s Battle Action special, bestselling writer Garth Ennis returns to once again reintroduce and reinvigorate the legendary British comics combo in a new series.
He is joined by some of the greatest talents in comics – including John Wagner (Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog), Dan Abnett (Guardians of the Galaxy, Warhammer 40k), Torunn Grønbekk (Thor, Punisher: War Journal), Rob Williams (Suicide Squad, Judge Dredd), John Higgins (Watchmen, Judge Dredd) and Chris Burnham (Batman Incorporated, Unstoppable Doom Patrol) – to bring new life to even more characters from the pages of Battle Picture Weekly and Action!
Launching 31 May and available through comic book stores and the 2000 AD and Treasury of British Comics webshops, the new five-issue miniseries will feature the return of fan favourite World War Two flying ace ‘Johnny Red’ as well as the return of Battle Picture Weekly’s co-creator John Wagner to ‘HMS Nightshade’, the series he co-created with artist Mike Western in 1979, which tells the story of a Royal Navy warship protecting Allied shipping from the U-Boat menace.

Garth Ennis said: “So it looks like my cunning plan worked, and there will indeed be more Battle Action. I’m delighted to welcome writers Rob Williams, Torunn Grønbekk, Dan Abnett and in particular original Battle creator John Wagner on board for the new series, alongside ten (count them) fantastic artists – some returning from last year’s special, some newcomers to our noble endeavour. Having John produce the first ‘HMS Nightshade’ script in forty years is the icing on the cake.”
Editor Oliver Pickles said: “The Battle Action special last year was a huge success for us, so it’s a delight to be able to return to these classic titles. We have a really first class line-up of creators who don’t just understand the legacy of these characters but how to bring them forward in new and exciting ways.”

Ahead of its release in a couple of weeks’ time we’re excited to share a preview of the next title in our series of digital-only 2000 AD collections – Time Flies!
First published in the 90s in Progs 700 to 711, and returning as Tempus Fugitive in progs 1015-1023, Time Flies was a time travel comedy series written by Garth Ennis following the misadventures of Squadron Leader Bertie Sharp, a WWII fighter pilot, and future time cop Trace Bullet as they try to recapture Herman Goering from pirates… on a time travelling JCB.
While since its initial publication Ennis has been vocal in his dislike for the series, there’s still a huge amount to enjoy here – this is silly fun, packed with affectionate absurdity, and full to the brim of Philip Bond’s effortlessly cool artwork.
You can check out the first four pages of Time Flies below, and it’s out on May 5th – available from the 2000 AD app, as DRM-free download from the 2000 AD webshop, and on Amazon Kindle devices.
The new digital releases will be available from the 2000 AD app for Apple, Android, and Windows 10 devices, as DRM-free PDF/CBZ downloads from the 2000 AD webshop, and on Amazon Kindle devices.
