PROG 2261 out now

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2261 is OUT NOW!

It’s the final regular prog of 2021, Terrans — where did that year go? (Into the dumpster with 2020, I’m sure a lot of you are thinking…)

Regardless of temporal mysteries, we’ve got the concluding instalments this issue of Judge Dredd the Musical!, Scarlet Traces and Lordy Jordy, King of Everything, ahead of a brand-new line-up to commence next week in the bumper Xmas Thrill-splurge that we traditionally like to round out the last twelve months with.

Alongside an unmissable Dredd story — seriously, you’re not going to believe who we’ve got turning up in this one — there’s the scrotnig opening chapters of Proteus Vex, Kingmaker and The Order, plus The Out, Dexter, The Fall of Deadworld, and more.

Needless to say, miss it at your peril, Squaxx! While we’re in Betelgeusian hype-mode, we would also strongly recommend you place an order at your local Thrill-merchant for Meg 439, also out next week, as it too features an all-new roster of stories, including the return of Lawless and Diamond Dogs plus debuting Thrills Surfer by the Wagner and MacNeil droids and the Cursed Earth-set Death Cap!

JUDGE DREDD // The Musical! // Part Three!

Mega-City One, 2143 AD. Home to over 160 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. Crime is rampant and only the Judges — zero-tolerance cops empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop
total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law! Now, Sensitive Klegg — a member of the alien species with a love for culture and the arts — has written a rap musical about the life of the future cop. Starring in the lead role, and pulling together figures from Dredd’s past, he’s launched into the opening night…

Script: Ian Edginton / Art: D’Israeli / Letters: Simon Bowland

SCARLET TRACES // Storm Front // Part Eleven!

1968. It is decades since Mars waged war on Earth, and the major nations have access to Martian-derived technology, but Britain is still recovering from Martian bombardment in the 1940s, when much of the south of England was destroyed. This was followed by the arrival in the 1950s of two million Venusians, seeking refuge from Martian occupation. The Martians redoubled their attack on Earth, and Venusian engineer Ahron Shakespeare travelled to Jupiter to seek their aid. The Jovians agreed to help, launching a counter-offensive — but now the Martians have surrendered…

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Mark Harrison / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

THE OUT // Book Two // Part Eleven!

The furthest edge of the universe, far into the future. Cyd Finlea is photo-journalist working for the publishers Global Neographic, travelling deep into outer space — otherwise known as THE OUT — and cataloguing the alien societies that she encounters. She left Earth ten years ago and has lost track of how far she is from home, but regardless she keeps going, accompanied by her sentient flatspace bag, seeking other ex-pat humans. Now, the rampaging extra-terrestrial race the Tankinar are tearing through the star system, destroying entire planets, and Cyd must flee for her life…

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Tazio Bettin / Colours: Matt Soffe / Letters: Simon Bowland

DEXTER // Bulletopia Chapter Seven: Lordy Jordy, King of Everything / Part Three!

Gun-sharks Finnigan SINISTER and Ramone DEXTER were the best hitmen money could buy in the future city of Downlode. Having whacked Holy Moses Tanenbaum, a ganglord from an alternate dimension, they found killing him reset the continuum, meaning no one knew who they were. But now a rogue A.I. is at large, which took control of Sinister, forcing Dex to kill him. But Sinister has been resurrected, and Dex, Billi and Carrie are on the run, hoping to escape to Mangapore as the A.I.’s agents seek them. Now, they’re being menaced by synthisaurs…

PROG 2259 out now

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2259 is OUT NOW!

Welcome to your latest salvo of circuit-shattering Thrills, Terrans, courtesy of the Comic of Tomorrow.

It’s that time of the week again, Squaxx, when we open the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic-sized portal in your reality and allow you to plunge into these future-shocked worlds.

Alongside the latest zarjaz instalments of The Out, Scarlet Traces, Dexter and The Diaboliks, this prog sees the start of all-new Judge Dredd story from the Williams and Weston droids, featuring a certain Klegg who’s become something of a Mega-City star in recent years. If you humes thought Hamilton was the must-see musical, then prepare yourselves for the Ol’ Stoney-Face extravaganza heading your way — this showstopper is truly not to be missed!

Indeed, as we head into the festive period, you may well be considering a trip to the theatre for a seasonal panto performance. It’s Terran behaviour that Tharg admits he struggles to understand, but at least it’s a fairly innocent pastime on this world compared to the Quothaarl, who toss mini-nukes at the actors during the closing number.

Still, while you may not be able to see Dredd on stage any time soon, you can wear him on your chest, thanks a new range of
Xmas jumpers available from shop.2000AD.com!

CADET DREDD // Full Throttle!

Mega-City One, 2076 AD. Home to over 800 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic
North America. On one side is the polluted Black Atlantic, and to the west is the blasted radlands of the Cursed Earth. Overcrowding in the metropolis is rife, unemployment is at ninety per cent, boredom is universal and crime is rampant. Only the Judges — a zero-tolerance police force empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. CADET JOE DREDD — together with his clone-brother Rico — is a rising star in Justice Department, and will one day be its finest officer. Make no mistake, he is the Law!

Script: James Peaty / Art: Steve Roberts / Colours: Jim Boswell / Letters: Simon Bowland

SCOOTER & JINX // New this Prog!

Eco-Point, a space station out near the Daedalus Spiral, is a place where all manner of species from across the galaxy congregate as they pass through on their various journeys. Mondo’s Mektail Bar is a favourite watering hole for the hungry and thirsty traveller, and waitress Scooter Occultatum is expecting a quiet afternoon’s business — but then again she wasn’t anticipating Jinx Calhoun to be amongst the customers, a rogue and a thief, who has more than enough secrets of his own. Not least the gangsters that are on his tail, who want to get their hands on something Jinx has stolen. The pair are about to cross paths in a very explosive fashion…

Script: Cavan Scott / Art: Luke Horsman / Colours: John Charles / Letters: Jim Campbell

ENEMY EARTH // The Bunker!

Perhaps mankind should’ve expected it, given the destruction humanity has wrought upon the planet Earth. Acres of forests
bulldozed, waterways polluted, animal life driven to extinction — there was always going to be a point in which the world decided that enough was enough, and Mother Nature would turn against the people that lived upon its surface and treated it so disrespectfully. So it came without warning — when Earth’s flora and fauna mutated and suddenly started attacking everyone. Quickly, civilisation crumbled as systems of government, TV and the internet all collapsed, leaving survivors to fend for themselves…

Script: Colin Harvey / Art: Tom Newell / Colours: Gary Caldwell / Letters: Simon Bowland

TIME TWISTERS // Temporal Tantrum!

Forget what you think you understand, Earthlets, about your species’ limited notion of time. Take nothing for granted when it
comes to human history, or an unknowable future — the process of time can be broken, bent back on itself, or even sent in entirely the wrong direction. These complete head-spinning tales warp the very fabric of chronology itself, and established events can be changed by the unwary dabbler in time travel. Take, for example, the case of Garzan Tarfett, an internet influencer, whose vast army followers hang on her every word (which she is, of course, very keen to monetise). Hungry for more fame, she heads into the past…

Script: David Baillie / Art: Colin MacNeil / Colours: Chris Blythe / Letters: Simon Bowland

STRONTIUM DUG // New this Prog!

Following the Great Atom War of 2150, many of the survivors were mutated by the radioactive Strontium 90 fallout, creating
an underclass despised and feared by the ‘norms’. These mutants were forced to live in ghettos, and the only job open to them was bounty hunting as Search/Destroy agents. The most famous of these so-called STRONTIUM DOGs is Johnny Alpha, who was regularly accompanied on missions by friend and fellow mutant Archibald ‘Middenface’ McNulty. Now, as McNulty has his own quarry to chase — a criminal known as Steeds Cryptoplex — he’s brought with him his granny’s dog, Dougal IX…

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2253 is OUT NOW!

It’s that time of the week again, Thrill-seekers, when you can temporarily put aside the pressures and problems of everyday reality and escape into the future-shocked worlds of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic.

Within these ghafflebette pages you’ll find undersea action in Judge Dredd, oddball antics on the fringes of the universe in The Out, global destruction in Scarlet Traces, unholy heists in the heart of the Vatican in The Diaboliks, and explosive prison escapes in the anarchic Pandora Perfect — what a line-up to feed every corner of your fevered imaginations!

In three short weeks Tharg — or rather his nephew Joko-Jargo — will be expanding the House of Tharg once again with the fourth and final (for 2021) Regened issue, taking over Prog 2256.

Alongside the regulars like Cadet Dredd and Future Shocks, you’ll be introduced to two new strips in the shape of Enemy Earth and Scooter & Jinx, which, should they prove popular, could well be joining our pool of characters for more appearances, much like the notorious Pandora.

Let us know, as ever, via input@2000ADonline.com, what you think of ‘em!
