2000 AD Prog 2299 is out now!

PROG 2299 out now

BORAG THUNGG, YOUNG EARTHLETS – 2000 AD Prog 2299 is OUT NOW!

I am The Mighty Tharg, Betelgeusian overlord supercharging your realities with Thrill-power!

All the scrotnig current stories wrap up this issue, Terrans, with Dexter and Jaegir returning next year, and Skip Tracer signing off on its last ever episode.

Usually for an autumn jumping-on prog I have a line-up of all-new strips to follow a series of endings such as this, but this year we’re doing something a little different. Prog 2300 is going to be a bumper 48-page bonanza of zombie horror as the undead infection spreads across the whole 2000 AD multiverse, affecting everyone from Sam Slade to the Survival Geeks, Rogue Trooper to the Mean Arena.

Why are the stars of the Galaxy’s Greatest being reduced to shambling, flesh-hungry corpses? Well, you’ll have to wait seven days to find out, but let me just say that September 2022 marks thirty years since Sabbat the Necromagus was defeated in the mega-epic Judgement Day… This is a story too big to contain within the covers of the pulse-pounding weekly, so it’ll be crossing over with Judge Dredd Megazine 448, also on sale next week (though make sure you read the prog first). The ghouls are go on 21 September, my Squaxx!

2000 AD Prog 2299 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

CADET DREDD // Sentientoid’s Big Idea, part three

Mega-City One, 2144 AD. Home to over 180 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. Crime is rampant, and only the Judges — empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law! Now, the Sov war-droid that had been hired to take out Dredd and Maitland on Atlantis seeks purpose to its life…

Script: David Barnett / Art: Lee Milmore / Colours: Quinton Winter / Letters: Simon Bowland

THARG’S 3RILLERS // The Crawly Man, part three

Three episodes, one complete, self-contained story — a condensed hit of supercharged Thrill-power beamed to you directly from the Nerve Centre! Wales 2022, and the village of Cudd has its own customs, its residents keen to keep its traditions secret. Outsiders are not welcome, and any problems will be solved internally. So when a young girl goes missing, they hire Herne and his dog Shuck to find her…

Script: James Peaty / Art: Paul Marshall / Colours: Dylan Teague / Letters: Simon Bowland

SKIP TRACER // Valhalla, part eleven

The Cube, the 27th century. This vast city floating in the depths of space was refitted by the Earth-led Consociation as a solution to a universal housing problem. It’s home to every kind of undesirable and wanted criminal. That’s where SKIP TRACER Nolan Blake came in, a former soldier turned psi-tracker. But now the Cube has come under the malignant influence of a nearby blackstar, and Blake has entered it on a mission…

Script: Dan Abnett / Art: Steve Yeowell / Colours: John Charles / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

DEXTER // Bulletopia Chapter Eleven: The End of The Pier Show, part three

Gun-sharks Finnigan SINISTER and Ramone DEXTER were the best hitmen money could buy in the future city of Downlode. Having whacked Holy Moses Tanenbaum, a ganglord from an alternate dimension, they found killing him reset the continuum, meaning no one knew who they were. But now a rogue A.I. is at large, and Dexter, Carrie Hosanna and Billi Octavo are on the run, trying to get to sanctuary in Mangapore…

Script: Gordon Rennie / Art: Simon Coleby / Colours: Len O’Grady / Letters: Jim Campbell

JAEGIR // Ferox, part eight

The Greater Nordland Republic. While the Norts are currently engaged in a galaxywide war with the Southers, it falls to military officers such as Kapiten-Inspector Atalia JAEGIR of the Nordland State Security Police to investigate war criminals. She’s also suffering from the Strigoi curse, a fault in the Nort DNA. Now, she’s entered the Miasma to appeal to General Kurga to give her part of a weapon that can wipe out the Southers…
