Judge Dredd Megazine #457 out now

Judge Dredd Megazine #457 is OUT NOW!

We reach the climax of ‘One-Eyed Jacks’ as the plot to rewrite history relies on New York cops McBane and Fargo to thwart it and consequently save Mega-City One, plus there’s more thrilling action in Dreadnoughts, Spector (with Dan Cornwell taking over on art duties from the late Carlos Ezquerra), Lawless and the penultimate part of Death Metal Planet.

Elsewhere, there’s chats with Dredd artist Kieran McKeown and fellow pencil-bot Rob Davis, a look at the stunning Kevin O’Neill Apex Edition, following similar tomes featuring the work of Brian Bolland and Mick McMahon, which Kev was closely involved with shortly before his death, and John Wagner reveals all about the return of The Bogie Man, his, Alan Grant and Robin Smith’s creator-owned detective comedy, a collection of which is being Kickstarted as we speak.

Judge Dredd Megazine #457 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of the Megazine in the first month of its release then postage in the UK is free!

Judge Dredd Megazine #455 out now

Judge Dredd Megazine #455 is OUT NOW!

New series start this issue – first up we have the much-anticipated second arc of Dreadnoughts, courtesy of regular creators Mike Carroll and John Higgins, rewinding to the early days of Justice Department in the mid twenty-first century.

Secondly, those originators of the Judge Dredd universe itself, John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra, are back with Spector, a creator-owned robot-detective drama. Many of you will be aware that this was the series Carlos was working on when he sadly died in 2018, and only the first two episodes were completed (published in the 2019 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special). John decided to carry on writing the story, and Dan Cornwell will be taking over on art from part three onwards.

Also new is the Anderson, Psi-Division mini-series ‘The King of the Six Sectors’, which acts as a sequel to ‘Year One’, while both Mega-City Two and the current Devlin Waugh adventure come to a close. Elsewhere, we catch up with Devlin artist Rob Richardson, chat a life in comics with Dave Gibbons, and preview this year’s 2000 AD Free Comic Book Day special, which you’ll be able to pick up from participating stores on 5 May.

Judge Dredd Megazine #455 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of the Megazine in the first month of its release then postage in the UK is free!

ONE-EYED JACK

Part Dirty Harry, part Judge Dredd, ALL BADASS! Police Detective Jack McBane is the toughest, meanest law enforcer in 1970s New York City. Written by John Wagner and featuring the dynamic artwork of the late John Cooper, One-Eyed Jack is a seminal comic strip from Valiant which helped shape and change the course of British comic books forever.

OUT NOW: Judge Dredd Megazine #451 – new format, more pages!

Judge Dredd Megazine 451 out now

Judge Dredd Megazine #451 is OUT NOW!

The Megazine gets a face-lift this month – the print mag is now squarebound, with the reprint moved inside the mag itself, thereby ditching the polybag and the separate mini-trades. To mark this format change, this bumper Xmas issue is a massive 144 pages in which alongside the latest instalments of Devlin Waugh, Surfer, Storm Warning and Death Metal Planet – plus of course a complete seasonal case for Judge Dredd, courtesy of Ken Niemand and Stewart K. Moore – we’ve got two bonus stories in the shape of an eight-page Judge Dredd by Rob Williams and Will Conrad, and the debut of Mega-City 2099, a slice of retro law enforcement from Niemand and Conor Boyle, channelling that 1970s aesthetic.

Elsewhere there are interviews with two comics creators that have dipped their toes into prose – former Rogue Trooper script-droid Gerry Finley-Day and cover artist John Watson – as well as writer and editor John Freeman, plus reprints of the first issues of Judge Dredd: Year One and Mega-City Two: City of Courts, both originally published by IDW, and some classic Steel Claw material.

Judge Dredd Megazine #451 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of the Megazine in the first month of its release then postage in the UK is free!
