JUDGE DREDD // Chimpsky’s Law / Part Two

Mega-City One, 2141 AD. Home to over 130 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America, with the irradiated wasteland known as the Cursed Earth to the west. Unemployment is rife, boredom universal and crime is rampant. Tensions rest on a knife-edge and only the zero-tolerance Judges can stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law!

Script: James Peaty / Art: Paul Marshall / Colours: Dylan Teague / Letters: Simon Bowland

SKIP TRACER // Nimrod / Part Nine

The Cube, the 27th century. This vast city floating in the depths of space was once a monitoring station, but has been refitted by the Earth-led Consociation as a solution to a universal housing problem. It’s now home to every kind of undesirable and wanted criminal. That’s where SKIP TRACER Nolan Blake comes in, a former soldier turned tracker, who, after a battlefield injury, was left with powerful psi-abilities…

Script: Gordon Rennie / Art: Patrick Goddard / Colours: Pippa Bowland / Letters: Jim Campbell

AQUILA // The Burning Fields // Part Six

Following Spartacus’s failed revolt against his Roman masters, his rebel army was
crucified. Amongst these was the slave-turned-gladiator AQUILA, who cried out to the
gods for vengeance — and was answered by Ammit the Devourer, a deity that gifted
him with immortality in return for keeping her fed with evil men’s souls. Now, Aquila
wants to be released from Ammit’s bond, and is hunting for clues to her location…

Script: Gordon Rennie & Emma Beeby / Art: Neil Googe / Colours: Gary Caldwell / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

SURVIVAL GEEKS // Crisis of Infinite Nerds / Part Five

Somewhere in the outer limits of space/time, plunging through the planes of reality,
is what looks like a regular suburban two-up two-down, but it is in fact powered by
misfiring transdimensional technology. Inside live sci-fi obsessives Clive, Rufus and
Simon, plus reluctant housemate Sam and pet Cthulhu Howard: explorers on the edge
of beyond, they’re never far from trouble on the worlds they visit…

Script: Rob Williams / Art: Simon Fraser / Letters: Simon Bowland

HERSHEY // Disease / Part Five

Judge Barbara Hershey was one of Justice Department’s most respected and capable young officers before she became Chief Judge. Leading the city through numerous challenges, she only occasionally clashed with Dredd — until the ‘Small House’ affair and the revelation of Judge Smiley’s clandestine operations on her watch. Now, though, a microbial virus has seen Hershey resign, and her health suffer to the point of death…

OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2175

Prog 2174 sees more new Judge Dredd, Skip Tracer, and Aquila, plus all new Survival Geeks, and one more new strip…

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2175 is OUT NOW!

Following on from the start of a new series of Aquila last prog, we have a further two new stories commencing this issue alongside more Dredd and Skip Tracer!

First up, there’s the return of Survival Geeks for their final ever adventure in Crisis of Infinite Nerds, brought to you by the regular team of Gordon Rennie, Emma Beeby and Neil Googe.

As for the second story, well, we’ll leave you Squaxx to discover that one for yourselves further down the page… BEWARE: SPOILERS!

On another note, we find ourselves in strange and unsettling times, with countries all over your planet in lockdown thanks to a rampant coronavirus. We have to say that in our fortythree years upon this world we have never witnessed such global disruption and a health emergency quite like this.

The Galaxy’s Greatest has dealt with speculative pandemics before — the terrifying Dredd epic Day of Chaos springs to mind — but they’ve been rooted thankfully in fiction.

Now, as our species tackles one of its own, we can only marvel at the bravery and brilliance of the medical and scientific minds working night and day to combat it — especially in the UK, the NHS is something to be cherished and given thanks for. We doff my Rosette of Sirius to them all.

It is five years after the Last-of-All-War, when the Monarchy succeeded in defeating
the Malign Lord, whose army of creatures sought to eradicate humanity. With their

OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2172

Prog 2172 sees more new Judge Dredd, while elsewhere there’s more new Feral & Foe, The Zaucer of Zilk, Skip Tracer + brand new Sinister Dexter!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2172 is OUT NOW!

Welcome once again, Terrans, to your weekly hit of brain-frazzling graphic excitement courtesy of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic.

This prog we fondly greet Sinister Dexter, back for another gun-slinging adventure from the Abnett and Yeowell droids, and still reeling from the fallout of Narrow Minded (Progs 2147-2149), in which they had been hired to protect Artificial General Intelligence Lilith from unknown enemies that sought to destroy her. Ray and Finny failed, overwhelmed by tattooed, unkillable triggermen, and Dexter was left severely injured.

Just who or what was behind the Lilith hit, and the consequences for Downlode, will be explored in the forthcoming massive arc Bulletopia, kicking off this year as the zarjaz strip celebrates its highly impressive twenty-fifth anniversary!

Elsewhere, there’s an angry alien on the loose in Judge Dredd: The Relic, Nolan Blake discovers there’s a new threat in town in Skip Tracer: Nimrod, Wrath and Bode join a warband to take on Haggart Morn, the Butcher of Kurnoe, in Feral & Foe, and the Zaucer of Zilk is staggered to learn the true identity of the Criminaut in A Zaucerful of Zecrets.

Enjoy, Squaxx!

2000 AD Prog 2172 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

JUDGE DREDD // The Relic // Part Two

Mega-City One, 2141 AD. Home to over 130 million citizens, this urban hell is situated
along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America, with the irradiated wasteland

stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law!

Script: James Peaty / Art: Paul Marshall / Colours: Dylan Teague / Letters: Simon Bowland

tracker, who, after a battlefield injury, was left with powerful psi-abilities…

kingdom. But then came Errol Raine, master of despair from the world of Dankendreer,
who tried to take him down, and the Zaucer sacrificed his immortality to save his young

SINISTER DEXTER // The Frighteners // Part One

Gun-sharks Finnigan SINISTER and Ramone DEXTER are the best hitmen money can
buy in the future city of Downlode. Having whacked Holy Moses Tanenbaum, a ganglord from an alternate dimension whose presence threatened the fabric of reality, they’ve found killing him reset the continuum, meaning no one knows who they are. OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2171

Prog 2171 sees new Judge Dredd, while elsewhere there’s more new Feral & Foe, Proteus Vex, and The Zaucer of Zilk, plus new Skip Tracer!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2171 is OUT NOW!

It’s back to business as usual after last week’s bumper all-ages takeover, and we trust you enjoyed Joko-Jargo’s selection of tales in the Regened Prog, and passed them on to younger proto-Squaxx to give them a taste of Thrill-power!

Remember, that was the first of no less than four such special issues coming your way across 2020 — and we return to this week’s Prog with the start of a couple of new stories…

First up, an alien comes to Mega-City One and finds the metropolis its usual accommodating, tolerant self in Ken Niemand and Jake Lynch’s Judge Dredd thriller The Relic; and secondly bounty hunter Nolan Blake is back in Skip Tracer: Nimrod by James Peaty and Paul Marshall, with a dangerous enemy stalking the streets of The Cube. Elsewhere, we have the final chapter for Proteus Vex, and the latest instalments for The Zaucer of Zilk and Feral & Foe!

Heading into spring, more ghafflebette delights await you within the pages of the Galaxy’s Greatest — next prog Sinister Dexter return, courtesy of the Abnett and Yeowell droids, and later this month Gordon Rennie and Patrick Goddard reunite on Aquila — but look out too for the Action 2020 special on 25 March: the comic they tried to ban is back, Terrans!

2000 AD Prog 2171 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

Regened All-Ages Special 2000 AD Prog 2170 is out now, Earthlets!

Gather the whole family, because the first Regened Special of the year is here, and it brings new adventures from Cadet Dredd, Finder & Keeper, Future Shocks, The Gronk (!) and Rogue Trooper!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2170 is OUT NOW!

With Tharg feeling a little fragile after 2000 AD’s forty-third birthday celebrations, he’s retreated into a darkened office and passed the editorial reins once again to Joko-Jargo for the latest weekly takeover.

But not just that — last year’s Regened issue was a stellar success, so this will be the first of no less than four 48-page specials dotted through the year (look out for the others in May, August and November).

Needless to say, we (and Joko-Jargo) are very excited to show you the ghafflebette stories that the creator droids have been working on, and it all kicks off with this scrotnig prog!

Inside, you’ll find a Cadet Dredd tale from Rory McConville and Ilias Kyriazis as Joe faces down monsters from another dimension; clone-soldier Rogue Trooper is back, courtesy of Cavan Scott and Nick Roche, stumbling upon a secret in a toxic Nu Earth swamp; ghost-hunters Eliot and Meera return in Finder & Keeper by Leah Moore, John Reppion and David Tinto, tackling a graveyard guardian; we head to the planet Blas to meet the Gronks for a tale by David Baillie and Rob Davis; plus there’s a case of bad karma in the Future Shock from Karl Stock and Luke Horsman.

Enjoy, Terrans — Joko-Jargo will be back in three months, while next week Tharg will be back with the latest instalments of Feral & Foe, Proteus Vex and The Zaucer of Zilk, plus we have a new Judge Dredd thriller from Ken Niemand and Jake Lynch!

CADET DREDD // School Trip

Mega-City One, 2077 AD. Home to over 800 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. On one side is the polluted Black Atlantic, and to the west is the blasted radlands of the Cursed Earth. Overcrowding
in the metropolis is rife, unemployment is at ninety per cent, boredom is universal and crime is rampant. Only the Judges — a zero-tolerance police force empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. CADET JOE DREDD — together with his
clone-brother Rico — is a rising star in Justice Department, and will one day be its finest officer. Make no mistake, he is the Law!

Script: Leah Moore & John Reppion / Art: Davide Tinto / Colours: Jim Boswell / Letters: Simon Bowland

FINDER & KEEPER // Dead Signal

Somewhere in the UK, 2020. Meera Hundal and Eliot Hunter are a pair of friends at the local Stonecroft school. Although essentially good kids, they find themselves in trouble more often than they’d like thanks to their inability to walk away from a fight. Strongwilled
and not afraid to speak their minds, their latest punishment was to help with community clean-up chores — and when they were clearing the house of Victorian ghost-hunter Professor A.J. Mortimer, they came upon the special devices that he used to trap spooks. Now in the possession of spectral vision goggles and a spirit-trap, they’re seeing if they can put them to good use…

Script: Karl Stock / Art: Luke Horsman / Colours: John Charles / Letters: Annie Parkhouse

FUTURE SHOCKS // Living Your Best Life

Out in the vast reaches of the universe, there are an infinite number of stories waiting to be told. These cautionary tales pass from traveller to traveller in the spaceports and around campfires on distant planets, acquiring the status of legend, their shocking ends
a salutory lesson in hubris. Anything is possible in these twisted trips into the galaxy’s dark side. Abandon your preconceptions, and expect the unexpected. Now, at some point in the undefined future, the science of Karmatology has made reincarnation an experience that can be marketed and sold — choose the entity you want to come back as, and NooU will do the rest!

Script: David Baillie / Art: Rob Davis / Letters: Jim Campbell

THE GRONK // The Trouble with Gronkses

Deep in the Gallego system lies the planet Blas, home to the timid alien species known as THE GRONK. Furry bipedal creatures with four arms and mouths in their stomachs, they live a peaceful existence, as far away from any excitement as possible — for Gronks have notoriously weak hearts and fragile constitutions, and the merest fright can make them faint on the spot. Consequently, Gronks are not good with confrontation and keep themselves to themselves, happy to spend their days munching on rocks and metal, their favourite foodstuffs. But their nervous nature does make them ripe for exploitation for any intergalactic bully…

Script: Cavan Scott / Art: Nick Roche / Colours: Abigail Bulmer / Letters: Simon Bowland

ROGUE TROOPER // Savage Swamp

Nu Earth, just one planet among many caught up in a galactic war between the Norts and the Southers. Strategically vital, both sides are desperate to secure it but use of chemical weapons during the conflict has rendered the atmosphere poisonous. Now, soldiers must wear special environment suits to venture onto its surface — to breathe Nu Earth’s air is highly dangerous. So the Southers created the Genetic Infantrymen, bred to be immune to the planet’s lethal cocktail of pollutants — G.I.s like ROGUE TROOPER, the last of his kind. Together with his biochip buddies, he’s hunting for the Traitor General that betrayed them…
