BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS!

2000 AD Prog 2159 is OUT NOW, Earthlets, so get ready for another thirty-two pages of cutting-edge zarjazness beamed straight into your brainpans!

This month sees more new Judge Dredd: Harvest, plus the penultimate instalments of BrinkHopeDefoe, and the Fall of Deadworld

Waving farewell to November, it’s astonishing to realise that there’s only three weeks until the 100-page end-of-year doozy that is Prog 2162, with the current run of stories all wrapping up over the next fortnight. But what tales will be delighting your diodes under the Christmas tree?

Well, first up, returning to the pages of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic is none other than The Zaucer of Zilk for a sequel to his 2012 debut. With Peter Hogan taking over from Al Ewing on script duties — Brendan McCarthy continues to provide the scrotnig psychedelic artwork — A Zaucerful of Zecrets finds the wizard of Curtaindown a little older and more responsible, assuming the mantle of Zultan and caring for his young ward Tutu. But danger threatens the kingdom with the arrival of the mysterious Criminaut, who targets the Zaucer personally.

Expect magic and mayhem in this gloriously colourful phantasmagoria — and if you missed the first series, pick up Hachette’s Hewligan’s Haircut collection, where you’ll find the complete story alongside HH and Sooner or Later!

2000 AD Prog 2159 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

JUDGE DREDD // THE HARVEST – Part Two

Michael Carroll (Script) Nick Percival (Art) Annie Parkhouse (Letters)

Mega-City One, 2141 AD. Home to over 130 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. Crime is rampant, and only the Judges — a zero-tolerance police force empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law! Now, a serial killer is stalking the city, removing various body parts of his victims…

HOPE // UNDER FIRE – Part Ten

Guy Adams (Script) Jimmy Broxton (Art) Ellie De Ville (Letters)

An alternate 1940s USA. WWII is over, victory having been secured by occult means. Now, magic is a part of everyday life, its practitioners commonplace. Mallory HOPE is one such skilled operative, though calling on the dark arts takes its toll on the user. He’s also a private investigator, hired for all manner of down n’ dirty jobs, and now his services have taken him to New York, where he’s been manipulated by Alberto Modi…

BRINK // HATE BOX – Part Ten

Dan Abnett (Script) I. N. J. Culbard (Art) Simon Bowland (Letters)

The late 21st century, and through environmental catastrophe and industrial overload Earth has been reduced to a wasteland. Mankind finally evacuated the planet in 2072 and millions were housed in a number of deep-space Habitats. But life on these cramped, overcrowded stations is tense, with many spilling over into madness. Now, HSD cop Bridget Kurtis is investigating what looks like a gang-related mass-kill…

DEFOE // THE DIVISOR – Part Ten

Pat Mills (Script) S. K. Moore (Art) Ellie De Ville (Letters)

London, 1668. It is two years since the city was devastated by the Great Fire. From the ashes rose the undead, hungry for the flesh of the living. Protecting the populace are zombie hunters like Titus DEFOE, a former Leveller, whose mission is to rid the capital of the ghouls. Now, he’s discovered that the entity Irdonozur is seeking to escape Earth and return to the moon — and it’s been smuggled upon the Britannia rocketship…

THE FALL OF DEADWORLD // DOOMED – Part Ten

Kek-W (Script) Dave Kendall (Art) Annie Parkhouse (Letters)

The planet that eventually became known as DEADWORLD was once a regular civilisation existing in a dimension parallel to our own. But the end of days is coming, and creatures known as the Dark Judges are spreading their contagion, exterminating all life. While the survivors attempt to resist the undead horde, the neighbouring Soviets have seen the chaos as an ideal time to launch an attack on their enemies…

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS!

Welcome to the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Terrans, featuring the finest in future fiction!

The ultra-zarjaz Judge Dredd story Guatemala reaches its explosive climax this issue, while the rest of the line-up that commenced in Prog 2150 continues as Hope, Brink, The Fall of Deadworld and Defoe all barrel their way towards the end of the year!

Hard to believe, we know, Terrans, but we’re just over a month away from the seasonal Thrill-splurge that is our 100- page Christmas special. Where have the last twelve months gone?

In a blur of scrotnig excitement, of course — time does seem to fly by when you’re cooking up circuit-shattering stories!

As we input these words into the dictatomatic droid on my desk, the UK is once again heading for another general election, this time in December (seems like everything’s racing towards its end-of-season finale at the moment — how your feeble bodies handle the tension I’ll never know). It’s being talked about as possibly the most important ballot in post-war Britain — though we suspect the Johnson humanoid has never picked his top three Thrills in a readers’ poll and posted it into the Nerve Centre…

So suffice to say, if you’re eligible to vote: do it. Exercise your democratic right. ‘Cause we all know what happens if you lose it…

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS!

‘You haven’t got a hope in hell…’ Isn’t that the Terran expression?

Well, the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic has got its very own Hope in the shape of magical private investigator and cover star Mallory, and he’s indeed in hell — trapped in a hallucinogenic nightmare as he follows the leads in New York’s crow trade.

It’s just one of the five circuit-scorching stories found within this pulse-pounding publication! Elsewhere, you’ll discover the shocking human tragedy of life in 22nd-century Guatemala in Judge Dredd, you’ll cheer Defoe on as he gallops after the deranged followers of Irdonozur to stop their moon mission in The Divisor, you’ll be plunged into claustrophobic confines of Salma Habitat in Brink, and you’ll be transported to a world on the edge of annihilation in Doomed!

They all contribute to the scrotnig 2000 AD experience, the cumulative effect of which is akin to swan-diving into a tornado, leaving you shaken and discombobulated yet exhilarated and ready to repeat the process all over again seven days later!

2000 AD Prog 2154 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!
