2000 AD Prog 2270 is out now! This zarjaz bumper birthday issue features more new Judge Dredd, Proteus Vex, and The Order, plus brand new Indigo Prime, Tharg the Mighty, Brink and Kingmaker!

PROG 2270 out now

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2270 is OUT NOW!

Welcome to a bumper issue of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic this week, Terrans, as we celebrate an incredible forty-five years channelling Thrill-power.

It’s a remarkable achievement for a newsstand title to have weathered four and a half decades and still be here producing scrotnig stories every seven days, and it’s testament to the ghafflebette talents of our droids — script, art, lettering, colourists, editorial — that 2000 AD is globally renowned as one of the most important and influential anthologies to have been beamed into your reality.

And of course we wouldn’t be here without you loyal Squaxx so this prog we’re marking the forty-fifth milestone with new Thrills in Dredd and Brink, ongoing adventure in Proteus Vex, The Order and Kingmaker, and a couple of one-offs in Indigo Prime and a special tale from the Command Module.

Alas, some sad news reached us just as this issue was being assembled — ace art-droid Ian Kennedy passed away on 7 February 2022. His zarjaz work on Ro-Busters, Dan Dare and more is rightly legendary, and he will be much missed.

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2268 is OUT NOW!

Welcome back to the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Terrans, for another hyper-blast of circuit-shattering excitement, courtesy of Tharg’s rivet-poppingly busy creator-meks.

Kingmaker takes a break for a couple of weeks, so this prog PJ Holden provides us with a spine-tingling Terror Tale in its place, plus there’s the regular high-octane action in Proteus Vex, The Order and Saphir, and the Eglington and Califano droids craft a scrotnig one-off Judge Dredd thriller in the shape of Extraordinary Deaths!

As we approach 2000 AD’s forty-fifth birthday, you can expect plenty of online celebrations to mark this major milestone, so we would recommend keeping an optical sensor on the prog’s Facebook and Instagram accounts (2000 AD can now be found on the latter @2000ADcomic — give us a follow!) for updates, competitions and artwork previews.

Tharg expects all Squaxx dek Thargo to have signed up to the Thrill-mail, but if you haven’t you can subscribe to it via 2000AD.com’s homepage, and every week you’ll receive an email newsletter with the latest announcements and offers from the House of Tharg!

We enter February — the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’s birthday month, which we’ll be marking in just three weeks’ time with a bumper prog as Tharg’s illustrious organ celebrates forty-five years upon this planet — and the Thrills are heating up nicely.

There’s more SF action and adventure in Proteus Vex, Saphir, Kingmaker and The Order, plus we have a complete Judge Dredd tale from the Niemand and Richardson droids!

Talking of anniversary events, the Cartoon Museum in London is collaborating with this pulsepounding publication to mark four and a half decades of the zero-tolerance lawman with a special exhibition called Dredd @ 45, which is running right now until 24 April 2022. Described as an ‘In Focus’ exhibition, it takes a look at the changing styles and work practices over the years that have seen the Judge evolve into the iconic figure that he is today.

From the physical cut-and-stick techniques used in the 1970s to the digital methods employed now, it charts the change in comics creation, and yet Ol’ Stoney-Face himself remains resolutely the same

Back again for more circuit-shattering excitement, Squaxx? Who can blame you — with a line-up like this, there’s no question that your diodes would be demanding more.

Sky-courier Mona Plankhurst has to avoid the full arsenal of Justice Department in part two of Working Girl; Proteus Vex is a wanted being in Desire Paths; we learn something of Cassi’s past in The Order; Ichnar establishes his powerbase in Kingmaker; and we reach the final ghafflebette instalment of The Out Book Two, Dan Abnett and Mark Harrison’s breakout hit series that has unquestionably struck a chord with you Terrans.

Needless to say, Tharg wouldn’t be the illustrious editor of the GGC if he hadn’t already charged those creator-bots with a third arc of Cyd’s adventures, so look out for that towards the end of 2022!

Talking of year-long projects, you may have noticed a single-page feature in last week’s issue — Scott Montgomery’s Brimful of Thrills on the 45 articles will appear in every prog over the next twelve months, each one covering the highlights of a year in the life of this pulse-pounding publication!

Welcome to the space-year 2022, Squaxx, and it’s a very special twelve months ahead of us as we’re commencing the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’s forty-fifth anniversary year, another scrotnig milestone for Tharg’s august organ.

Needless to say, there are plenty of celebratory treats to come, not least the publication of the back-breakingly huge 2000 AD Encyclopedia in February as well creator-centric collections such as The Best of John Wagner’s Judge Dredd in March to coincide with four and a half decades of Mega-City One’s hyper-cop.

So we suggest you stick around, Terrans, because you won’t want to miss the Thrills heading your way! Not least, of course, the wonders to be found in this pulsating prog itself — we trust your circuits have suitably recovered from our zarjaz Xmas issue
and are ready for more, as we have the second ghafflebette instalments of The Order, Kingmaker and Proteus Vex, the penultimate part of The Out, and the start of an all-new Dredd thriller from Ken Niemand and Patrick Goddard featuring the return of delivery skysurfer Mona Plankhurst. Enjoy, humes!

PROG 2261 out now

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2261 is OUT NOW!

It’s the final regular prog of 2021, Terrans — where did that year go? (Into the dumpster with 2020, I’m sure a lot of you are thinking…)

Regardless of temporal mysteries, we’ve got the concluding instalments this issue of Judge Dredd the Musical!, Scarlet Traces and Lordy Jordy, King of Everything, ahead of a brand-new line-up to commence next week in the bumper Xmas Thrill-splurge that we traditionally like to round out the last twelve months with.

Alongside an unmissable Dredd story — seriously, you’re not going to believe who we’ve got turning up in this one — there’s the scrotnig opening chapters of Proteus Vex, Kingmaker and The Order, plus The Out, Dexter, The Fall of Deadworld, and more.

Needless to say, miss it at your peril, Squaxx! While we’re in Betelgeusian hype-mode, we would also strongly recommend you place an order at your local Thrill-merchant for Meg 439, also out next week, as it too features an all-new roster of stories, including the return of Lawless and Diamond Dogs plus debuting Thrills Surfer by the Wagner and MacNeil droids and the Cursed Earth-set Death Cap!

Starring in the lead role, and pulling together figures from Dredd’s past, he’s launched into the opening night…

SCARLET TRACES // Storm Front // Part Eleven!

1968. It is decades since Mars waged war on Earth, and the major nations have access to Martian-derived technology, but Britain is still recovering from Martian bombardment in the 1940s, when much of the south of England was destroyed. This was followed by the arrival in the 1950s of two million Venusians, seeking refuge from Martian occupation. The Martians redoubled their attack on Earth, and Venusian engineer Ahron Shakespeare travelled to Jupiter to seek their aid. The Jovians agreed to help, launching a counter-offensive — but now the Martians have surrendered…
