“It’s called ‘Essential Judge Anderson’ for a reason” – Starburst
The best-selling Essential Judge Dredd collection expands with a new line dedicated to iconic science fiction heroine, Judge Anderson – Shamballa is out now!
Judge Cassandra Anderson of Psi Division is one of the greatest minds on the Judges’ roster. As a precognitive telepath and empath, her quirks, such as her sense of humour, are tolerated by the otherwise oppressively strict Justice Department.
However, Anderson’s sense of justice and morality soon calls her to question the Law of the Judges in these landmark adventures, written by Alan Grant and featuring jaw-dropping art by Arthur Ranson and Mick Austin. As Anderson battles to save Mega-City, psychic twins, and her friend Judge Corey from psychic attacks and their inner demons, her faith in the systems around her begins to crumble. And when the world is teetering on the brink of an apocalyptic collapse, it will take everything Anderson has to save the world at the ancient temple of Shamballa.
Grant’s run on Anderson, Psi Divison showcased a new depth for both 2000 AD and Anderson, as his stories took in the gamut of human emotion and spirituality. ‘Shamballa’is to many, the quintessential Judge Anderson story, and it serves as the perfect opening volume of Rebellion’s new Essential Judge Anderson line.
Essential Judge Anderson is available to pre-order from all good book and comic book stores, as well as 2000 AD‘s webshop!

Even a psychic cop who can ride the astral plane has to get from A to B – the twin-pack of Judge Cassandra Anderson and the formidable Lawmaster bike are joining the new line of Judge Dredd figures from Hiya Toys.
Rebellion and Hiya Toys are proud to unveil the latest in the brand new range of 1:18 PVC action figures based on the world of Judge Dredd, from the pages of the bestselling comic British comic, 2000 AD!
With her powerful psychic abilities and irreverent wit, Judge Anderson is one of 2000 AD’s biggest characters – the perfect foil for Judge Dredd since her debut in 1981 but so popular she soon broke out into her own series. Co-created by writer John Wagner and legendary artist Brian Bolland (Batman: The Killing Joke, Camelot 3000), and immortalised by actor Olivia Thirlby in the 2012 movie Dredd, Anderson brings her special power to patrolling the mean streets of Mega-City One.
Originally designed by Carlos Ezquerra when he created Judge Dredd, the Lawmaster is the fearsome motorbike the Judges use to patrol the crime-ridden streets and mega-ways of Mega-City One. With its twin bike cannons it can blow away perps as its on-board computer and artificial intelligence provides everything from criminal records to voice scans and can even drive itself.
Due to ship from Hiya in China in the first quarter of 2023 and retailing at $69.99 (USD), the Anderson figure comes with 16 points of articulation, shoulder and joint pads, chain and badge of office, utility belt, Lawgiver and ‘daystick’ truncheon. The gorgeously crafted Lawmaster bike comes with turning wheels and a turnable front section, while the headlights and computer screen can be illuminated.
This set is the latest addition to the brand new range of fully poseable 1:18 figures due to begin arriving in stores and online from this autumn, and will come shipped in an attractive protective cardboard window box.
Due to pressure on international shipping caused by the pandemic dates, the shipping dates for the new range have had to be set back. Please note, these are the dates for when Hiya Toys ships from China, not when they are due in stores:
