OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2167

Prog 2167 sees a brand new Judge Dredd story, while elsewhere there’s more new Feral & Foe, Proteus Vex, and The Zaucer of Zilk, plus even more nerve-shredding Brink action!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2167 is OUT NOW!

Prepare to feel the full force of hyper-dimensional Thrill-power, Terrans, as once again our creatordroids rewire your imagination-circuits with another scrotnig issue of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic.

This week we have the start of a new Dredd thriller in the shape of Future Crimes Unit by Rory McConville and Jake Lynch, which joins the latest instalments of Feral & Foe, The Zaucer of Zilk, Proteus Vex and Brink, the latter building towards its climax in Prog 2169.

As we speak, the Culbard art-bot is scribbling away on the final episode, his deadline software fully synched with that of the print-meks’. However, as an added incentive, Mek-Quake has been powered up and is looming over his cubicle, the ever-present threat of dismemberment ensuring there is no slowdown in production!

Corralling the various droids working on the five different stories running in any given prog — all of whom toil at varying speeds — may look like a challenging task, but for a Betelgeusian being such as the Mighty Tharg it’s a simple matter of organisation, forward planning and intimidation. Nothing gets a script- or art-bot back on course with their strip than a casual mention of the Osney Mead acid-pits!

2000 AD Prog 2167 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

OUT NOW: 2000 AD Prog 2165

2165 cover

Prog 2165 sees the end of Judge Dredd: Kill Bloopy, more new Feral & Foe, Proteus Vex, and The Zaucer of Zilk, plus more nerve-shredding Brink!

BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS – Prog 2165 is OUT NOW!

Once the first two progs of the year are sent to the print-bots, the Command Module closes for the seasonal deactivation — and it was alas during that downtime (on Christmas Eve, in fact) that we heard the very sad news that letterer Ellie De Ville had died, aged seventy-two. Ellie had been a regular presence in the Galaxy’s Greatest and the Megazine for close to thirty years and was a consummate letterer, her balloons clear, unfussy and perfectly judged.

For the last two decades, she’d lettered two-fifths of the issue, and all manner of strips were passed her way to bring the dialogue to life — from Stickleback, Savage and Sláine to Bec & Kawl, Durham Red, Button Man and, most often, Sinister Dexter, a series she lettered a huge majority of. She particularly loved working on Lawless in the Meg.

We had the pleasure of contacting Ellie every week to deliver the next set of stories that required her magic touch, and a few days later the lettering would be returned, reliable as clockwork. Diagnosed suddenly with pancreatic cancer in November, Ellie was forced to retire, and passed away a month later. Everyone here will miss her enormously.

There’ll be a full obit in next month’s Meg. RIP, Ellie.

This week’s Prog sees Kill Bloopy come to an (imaginary) end (get it? get it?), while there’s more action from Proteus Vex, The Zaucer of Zilk, Feral & Foe, plus more Brink to shred your nerve-receptors.

2000 AD Prog 2165 is out now from all good newsagents and comic book stores, plus digitally from our webshop and apps! Don’t forget that if you buy an issue of 2000 AD in the first week of its release then postage in the UK is free!

ABSALOM // Graduation Day

UK, 2019. In the 16th century a diplomatic treaty called The Accord was brokered

most elite families have a demonic heritage — families such as the Rathbornes, the
members of which are now being targeted by a mystery attacker, seeking justice…
